280 Upper gear unit spline type?

How can I find what spline (large or fine) my upper gear unit has without removing unit? P/N is 28165127B

Since you have a 280 drive, there is 99% chance that you have coarse splines. Fine splines were first introduced on the 290 drive. I have never seen fine splines on a 280 drive, unless someone has mixed something.
