Had a question, my boat has been at mechanic yard to replace bellows and he's drained and left the dip stick out for 3 weeks. Do you think the internal gears are being damaged? Should I be concerned?

I wouldnt be concerned, however I would be looking for a new mechanic. then again, I do my own work.

I wanted to do the work but the helmut pin was stuck not even the mechanic could get it out, he the just turned the drive and took out the Allen bolt on side of drive... Doh!! I should have done it.....After it sat at yard for three weeks he showed me the u joints were rusty and oil in bellow so for $500 he fixin upper seal and replaced u joints with zerk fitted ones and installed my fuel pump. Is that a decent price?

Took the boat yesterday and during engine flush I notice the outdrive is making a slight rubbing sound in upper drive. The mechanic just tore the upper down and resealed it. Is there supposed to be a rubbing noise coming from the shift cover plate area???
