2hp clinton motor

I recently bought an old clinton 2hp motor.The model number is k200 1000a.The serial number is 460175.On the gas tank the oil mixing instructions say to mix 1/2 pint of SAE 30 oil with 1 gallon of gas.I was told that if you mix regular oil with gas the oil would break down.I'm new at the whole boating thing and would appreciate any help or any other information on this motor.<br /><br /> thank you

your K200 motor is a 1972.<br />mix one half pint SAE 30 per gallon of gas only for first tankful with new engine or newly overhauled, one quarter pint per gallon of gas after that.<br />use regular 87 octane gas and TCW 3 rated oil.<br />spark plug champion CJ8 gapped at .025<br />hope this helps
