So this seems simple enough with this old post from Don. However, I have seen a few other posts and youtoube videos that say to jack the engine up slightly. These instructions don't mention that. Is it necessary?

Ayuh,..... If everything is as it Should be,..... Nope, no jackin' nothin',... pull the block, change the belt,......

But,.....
I recently did a pair of I-6s, which are the same thing, same way, same deal,....
The belt wouldn't fit 'tween the pulley, 'n mount,....
Hada take the tension off the front mount to knock it forward, 'n then back to it's spot,.....
A poor install from Bertram back in '79,....

OK. It looks like there will be enough room to get the belt in there. Thanks Bondo!

Lay a spare belt in there as well so you won't have to remove the spacer if the belt breaks.
