3.0 cracked block

bayliner 2000 3.0 cracked what is my options can't seem to find a used block. Alot of these have the same issue. Thinking on swap to 4.3 have an automotive motor any changes needed? will it bolt to the Alpha II? thanks for your halp.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... As for doin' the 4.3l,... Ya, several thousand dollars worth of Marine accessory parts are Necessary,.....
'n the outdrive gear ratio is wrong, so another grand or so for that,.....

Best bet is a new or reman 3.0l Long Block crate motor,.....

2nd best is findin' a rotten boat with a decent motor in it,....
They're out there, but ya gotta beat the bushes,... not the keyboard to find 'em,.....

yep the previous owner said he paid $200 for that job, my bro in law just bought it, great price but now the engine search...
I always run rv pink through my outboards till it pees pink...fog cyls, drain carbs
i/o 's non sealed systems I have done the same, then drain avail hoses inside and have had no problems. is there anything I'm missing?

Ayuh,.... You Betcha,..... Outboards don't need antifreeze, as when stored up-right, they're self drainin',.....

I/Os, ya GOTTA pull the drain plugs, poke, 'n prod the holes to knock the crud outa the way, 'n Drain it Dry,......

If ya wanta blow the funds on antifreeze, 'n put it in After ya Drain it Dry,... that's yer choice,....

I just leave it Dry,...... Air just Don't Freeze,.....

any input on the motor years that will mod into this rig? 2000 Bayliner Capri 17.5 with Alpha II, I've heard 1996 - '04?
