I've been trying to slowly restore my 91 3.0 mercruiser alpha one. I've gutted it completely, now I've put the motor back in and I'm having trouble aligning it properly. I bought the tool but when I bought it he boat whoever "attempted" to fix it half ***ed it completely. Missing parts. Wrong parts. Etc. What is supposed to go on the rear of the motor for the motor mounts. I've researched it and there seems to be numerous ways ppl have done it. So any help is appreciated!!! It's a 115 hp btw.

There is a bolt kit with spacers. There is only one way to do it. Put the washers and spacers in the correct order and slide the bolt in. Yea that is what she said.

Google 3 liter mercruiser motor mount bolt.

On the flywheel cover there should be an part on each side that has a rubber motor mount inside it with a metal sleeve down the center. There will be an ear on the inner transom plate that those two motor mounts will sit on, but with some stuff inbetween. Inbetween there will be a large fiber washer with a spring looking washer that sits inside. Once you put the motor in place, there will be a long bolt that will have a flat washer and a collar washer that looks like a 1" piece of pipe. The collar washer will sit on top of the motor mount, flat washer on top of that, bolt will go through both.. Under the transom mounted motor mount you will put the nut. It will take a bit to get it started since the transom assembly is cut in such a way that it holds the nut so you only need to tighten it from above with no tool below. Look up Mercruiser Bellhousing rear engine mount on E-bay and you will see everything but the rubber motor mount.
