ok maybe someone can help me with this head scratcher..... i bought a used 3.0 (1984,2 piece rear seal) that was rebuilt with low hrs(supposedly)...i installed it and it has a noise in the engine kinda sounds in between a bearing wrap and a lifter noise, but other than that rns well, so...this weekend i adjusted all the valves(did both running and non running method, warm) then i did a compression check it had 130lbs in all cylinders, and it has good oil pressure, it idles @35-40lbs and goes up to 55-60lbs when rev'd, so after so head scratching i pulled the engine last night and dropped the oil pan, i pulled all the main caps and connecting rod caps and nothing looked spun or even worn extreme enough to make any kind of noise, i did see some light metalic debree in the pan that seemed to be from some piston wall scuffing but thats it(did look like how ever rebuilt it replaced the pistons, and redid the rods) cam looked good, i cant figure why it would have a noise??? i've had quite a few engines apart over the years so this isnt my 1st time, but usually a engine noise has a obvious reason once its apart...........any suggestions i'm stumpped on this one! thanks

I've had loose bolts on a crankshaft pulley on a 4cyl Chrysler Kcar engine that made the same noise, and it drove me crazy  until I had the car on a lift, and found it

well looking at it more today , we noticed in the rear cylinder it looks like the oil ring looks funky as you look at it from the bottom of the piston, i guess tonight i'm gonna pull the head and pull the pistons, only hing i can figure is possible broke ring from piston rock or a wrist pin is messing up....
any idea on what compression should be at??
got a feeling i'm looking at a rebore and new pistons....uhg!
