3.0 engine swap

I have a 1997 four winns with the 3.0 and volvo penta cobra sx outdrive. Motor is bad so I found a 3.0 that supposedly came from a 94 baja with an sx outdrive. After a lot of trial and error, I now have the issue of the flywheel, coupler and bellhousing. Bad motor coupling has small bolt pattern that uses the flywheel studs for mounting. The donor motor has the coupling that bolts around the the outer edge of the flywheel. Donor motor bellhousing motor mount slots are about an inch too narrow and will not line up. Question is, is there a coupling that will interchange with the donor motor flywheel to fit the original bellhousing? Thank you for any help or info anyone may have.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... A '94, 'n '97 should have the same crankshaft bolt pattern, so each should swap 'tween those motors, if they're what ya say they are,....

Yep, the 94 and 97 should be identical motors

The crankshaft bolt pattern is different. That's why I'm thinking the donor engine is older than said to be. Is there any coupling or bellhousing that will interchange to make the donor engine fit? 97 bellhousing is too shallow for the older coupling and the donor bellhousing motor mounts are an inch too narrow for the mounting studs in the boat.
