Cant figure this one out, it will drive all day with no issue from idle -mid throttle. Open it up wide and it will start to bog and sometimes stall. Starts right back up, and off we go, again keep it under WOT and its fine.
What has been done?.....
Got most of the fuel out but not all unfortunately, and added fresh. Rebuilt the carb (hopefully it was done right). New fuel pump/filter setup.
Still same issue.
Everyone i speak to says its a fuel issue. One guy thinks the spacer for the fuel pump might be the issue, i guess depending on the size of the spacer and is how much the arm can move. Someone says maybe the "jets" in the carb are the wrong size. SO far the fixes i have done as well as the fixes suggested are not that much money, but when its all said and done it might be a couple hundred.
Im trying to see if you experts can help me narrow it down before i systematically replace everything. Tune up as done a few years ago, my mechanic looked at this year and said tune up next year just use it this year, whatever that means. What it doesn't mean is that the plugs and wire DONT need to be replaced, maybe they do, but would that cause the symptoms described?
Otherwise it runs great, everyone says its runs great but it just doesn't like WOT. Like i said its a volvo penta 3.0 GS, i dont see why it would matter but its in a 1995 larson sei 174. Well maintained.
