Have been vapor locked 2 times on the lake recently so planning to install an in-line 7 psi micro electric pump to stop the issue. Been trying to find a wiring diagram for the past couple hours with little luck, figured id ask for a little help with it. boat is an 07' mariah sx18 any help would be appreciated

welcome aboard

doubt its vapor lock, as the 3.0 still uses mechanical pump.

most likely your float is sticking, or your anti-siphon valve is sticking, or your fuel vent is plugged

The problem only happens after being on the water for a couple of hours and the engine compartment getting hot, before that fires right up multiple times. But once that temp rises have to wait for everything to cool down before it will start back just turns over without firing.

i did a good bit of research and vapor lock seems to be the most likely culprit either way the mini electric pump wasn't that much and wont take long to install. Will post back what happens as i am testing it this weekend, just gotta get out there with a test light and find a wire that is hot with the switch.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... The purple wire at the coil's (+) terminal, or at the electric choke,.....

But,..... It's illegal to wire it without an oil pressure switch, for safety reasons,.....

Might be better to wire it to the yellow/ red stripe wire from the slave solenoid, to the starter's solenoid, as it's only powered with the key in the start position,....

So the electric pump would only power up when starting then the mechanical would take over after that point?

no, if you run an electric pump, you must remove the mechanical pump.

the pump is a pass through model so if i wired it to the solenoid red/yellow as mentioned and it was only powered during start up as a priming pump that sounds like the safest option and would solve the issue that i intended to solve in the first place. would also help with initial startup as well as long as fuel dosent backflow but once there is draw on the line from the mechanical and i release the switch and the electric is no longer powered i wouldnt think that would be an issue. by no means an expert on this though haha
