sorry guys the boat was in the open all winter, but the engine itself has a wooden/cushion removable cover on it. (just remembered this when I picked it up) that was on....so i don't think it was getting rained on directly.

update: I am able to turn the motor now much more freely with the key/starter. I am trying the atf trick to sit overnight for the hell of it.

Whats recommended to do after that? Flush the atf out and fill with oil and try and start like normal??

Compression test. You need to have all 4 cylinders above 100 psi and within 10% from high to low

Where did you put the AFT/acetone, cylinders or crankcase?

Yes, fill crankcase with normal oil before doing any more cranking with the starter.
