I have a 96 Bayliner with a 3.0 mercruiser lx alpha one, bought it used but very well taken care of. last summer after a couple months it start bogging down while flying across the lake at high speed. Before I put it in the water this summer I had the carb rebuilt because the float was sticking and couldn't get it started. After the rebuild pulled all the fuel installed a water separator, changed both filters (carb and fuel pump) new plugs cap and rotor went through everything wiring etc. I took it out and it seemed to be great it stumbled a little at first but I ran the crap out of it and no problem. Now it's up to it's old tricks again, fires up great once I get it out in open water and open it up runs good for about ten fifteen minutes and boggs down. I can crawl around the lake all day it seems but when I try to open it up the trouble begins. It seems to be getting worse with shorter duration of run time. My temp gauge doesn't move at all and I'm not sure if it's broke or thermostat stuck open. I am going to put a new gauge in it tomorrow but it isn't running hot I know that for sure. I am at wits end with this thing, could it possibly be voltage regulator? Like I said before the thing fires up idles and runs great until I open it up. Anybody ideas?

I put a new filter in the fuel pump yesterday no sign of water at all. Maybe I should pull the carb filter also? Water separator is brand new.
