Hi all; just bought a 1993 1750 spectrum with a 3.0 mercruiser. Took it out for the first time yesterday! It started and ran pretty good, except in a couple rpm ranges it hesitated a bit. What would you guys or gals say would be the best way to attack this issue? I"m thinking , change plugs and run some carb cleaner in the fuel and see from there. Also it sits level in the water, but under power it runs low on the left side quite a bit! I'm not very knowledgable on I/O boats or motors so any advice would be appreciated. Thanx in advance!

As i said it ran pretty good, but would bog a bit in a couple spots. Each time it bogs a bit , if i pushed past that throttle position it would recover. Seemed to do it at the same 2 spots repeadedly.

whens the last time it had a good service.ie plugs /points dizzy cap, leads etc.those would be for starters and then go down the how old is the fuel and water filter changes.get these done and let us know the outcome.after that get on the oil changes etc

is the boat pulling to the left as in turning as the drive has a small ally rudder on that may need tweaking turning to the left a little or you may have a hull full of wetery foam that may need further investigating by drilling a hole in the floor big enough for a good look.once the foam is holding water you have to replace it all.

Full tune up! filters, fluids, plugs, wires, cap, points and or rotor, fresh fuel and then see what you end up with if the bog still persists a carb re-build is in order. If your listing to one side make sure all the weight in the boat is distributed evenly and after this and this problem still exists you could possibily have a water logged rig (foam and or stringers) most likely both. Good luck!

Gonna get to all the suggestions this weekend. The full tune up should take me most of the weekend, as I'm new to I/O's. I'm thinking the prop blades being badly dinged has something to do with the listing to the left. will test this out on the weekend as well. Thanx for all the tips, will update as i go.
