My boat starts and runs for a while before it starts to run rough and stall. I changed the plugs. Rotor, wires, checked for bad fuel, loosened the gas cap and checked the enrichment valve and circuit and air cleaner.
Today I removed the fuel pump and found a really dirty fuel filter and bowl. I’m hoping this is the problem. Tomorrow morning I’ll install it and test.
Any other ideas out there?
Thanks

This is a tks? If you found crap at the pump filter, then you need to see if there's crap elsewhere. Canister filter? Is there a filter at the carb?

When you say it runs good for a while, is that when it is cold and first warming up? If so i assume this is when the enrichment valve is open, then when it warms and closes it runs rough and stalls?
if so this would imply that the idle circuit is either set too lean or plugged. Have you tried setting the idle mix and idle speed and timing? i suspect you may need a carb cleaning but worth trying a tune up first

i think on a tks you may need this tool to adjust the screw https://www.cpperformance.com/p-62883-tks-carburetor-mixture-adjusting-tool-91-866201.aspx

A better time would have been before he started having problems 😄
Thanks for the suggestions. I installed a new fuel filter located on the bottom of the fuel pump. $10. Part. Started the engine, enrichment valve worked perfectly and engine ran like a top. Drove me crazy but it’s FIXED!!!!!

Canister filter is still a very good idea. Pump filter won't stop water, and isn't nearly as good as the canisters otherwise either.
