I'm wondering why there's no BTDC and ATDC marking
maybe it has been erased the boat is 25 yrs. old.
Is anybody knows if this is correct BTCD 8-6-4-0-44-6-8 ATDC. Therefore the timing should be 4 deg.
BBTCD. If this is not the correct. How to get the 44-deg. timing. Thank you for your great help.

Most timing lights used by professionals and many weekend mechanics have a knob, button, or indicator built into them that lets a person adjust the flash to move the TDC mark while viewing.

So if it says 44 degrees at 3200 rpm you bring it up to 3200 rpm then twist the little knob till the tdc mark aligns and look at the timing light and it tells you it has been adjusted so many degrees to get the marks aligned.

If BTDC 4 deg. meaning 4 deg. before 0 or aftr the
o marking. If I turn the distributor counter clockwise the RPM is faster but if I turn to clockwise 4 deg. after 0 mark the RPM is slower, so what is the correct setting 4 deg. BTDC.

TDC is the third point from the right, or fourth from the left. Each point is 4 degrees. Looks like this:

\/\/\/\/\/\/
12 8 4 0 4 8

To the left is BTDC, to the right is ATDC. In the valleys, would be:

10 6 2 2 6

Hope this helps.

Steve,

Thank you for your instruction 100% you're right.
I did the wrong way I set 4-deg. ATDC instead of
setting 4-deg. BTCD.
