3.0 omc Lower shift cable

Hello everyone! Im about to tackle the lower shift cable on my 3.0 omc with a cobra outdrive. Anyone have any thoughts?

Buy a factory OMC manual.

Buy an alignment tool for your sterndrive.

Helps if you can rent the tool that holds the bellcrank at 90 degrees.

I have a manual and a alignment tool somewhere. And I doubt there is anywhere around here to rent a tool for the bell crank. And looking at the cable I am not sure I got sent the right one. But I wont know till I get the outdrive off. from what I can see the cable threads in from the outside but the cable I ordered seems to thread from the inside.
