I just bought a 76 starcraft islander, the owner swapped out the old 2.5 and put in a 3.0 140hp engine. I brought it to the lake today to run it since i didnt know how to hook up a garden hose to it and run it. I fired it up and could tell rite away the carb needed a rebuild as it was only running off of the acc. pump. I would have to feather the throttle to keep it running. Well after about 10 mins of driving it around and feathering the throttle i put it back on the trailer and went home thinking i just needed to rebuild the carb. I checked the oil and it was now milky. Ive heared about pressure testing coolant systems to find leaks so thats what i did thinking the worse that it was a cracked block. I blocked off one hose with a guage and blocked of another hose with a shrader valve and pumped it to 10 psi. Didnt loose and pressure......what could be the issue? I did drain most of the water out of the engine but wasnt sure how to get it all out. Please help, thank you

IF your sure you pressurized the block and had no leaks, refill the oil and try again. Keep a close eye on the oil. Most cracked block issues come from a northen climate, home , and improper winterizing..

Most water intrusion comes from the riser going bad.Feeding water back through the valves. You can't pressure test that.Remove the exhaust manifold and check for rust and back flow.Post pics of your setup.
Power steering? Any info will help.J
