3.0 swap... first prob?

While swapping parts over from the old block to the new block, I noticed the way the flywheel bolts on to the new block is diff from the old one. The old one had bolts that screwed into the end of the crank... the new one seems to have studs in the crank and nuts that hold the flywheel on... Does this sound right? Old block is an '87, new one is an '84.

Any ideas? Is this a problem? Do I need a diff flywheel?

Studs,+ Nuts are usually Stronger than Bolts,.....

As long as the bolt Pattern is the Same,.......... No Problem........

look at the cranks, if you can see the crank seal on one and not the other its not going to work. I cant remember when the swap was but sometime about 87-90 the 3.0 went to a one piece rear main that can load from behind the crank, the old two piece required oil pan removal.
the bolt pattern on the two are different.

It fit, I just took the old one off and swapped it to the new motor. Had to get some new nuts and lock washers to make the set of 6, but everything went very smoothly.
