3.0 water outlet location

This may be a stupid question... But being new to the Merc world, this is new to me

Is the water outlet (seawater system) on a merc 3.0 right out of the bottom of the outdrive housing on the transom area? Just want to make sure this is right.

Yup,it's supposed to come out there when idling. Under power most will come out the center of the prop,looks good.

Also it looks to be trimmed up in the pic,it should never be run trimmed above the limit switch when running unless ya get into skinny water and then only at low speed,as short of time as possible. It will ruin the u-joints.

Hopefully that is just the camera angle... No one would ever run there engine/drive on muffs while in the trailered position! (would they???)

It's trimmed as far down as it can go on the trailer, and I have one wheel up on the sidewalk to give me more room under the drive. This trailer is a low rider for sure! I never would do more than a run in neutral with the joints at that angle.

Keep in mind that even in neutral the u-joints (as well as everything else in the drive 'cept for the prop) are turning!!

That is good to know, I can throw a jack under the rear of the trailer to get the boat up enough to get the trim all the way down.
