3.0l Flapper Valve Replacement...

To All,

I have a 2003 Sea Ray 175 with a 3.0l crate replacement motor. Unfortunately without a serial number... I'm rebuilding and refurbishing at the moment and need a replacement flapper valve. Specifically one that is round and measures two inches (2") in diameter.

I've been searching but have not been able to locate the exact part. Can anyone help?

I'm not seeing an exhaust shutter that is 2 inches. Can you post a pic?

Problem solved!!! I contacted Merc today and they were able to clear up my misunderstanding! The flapper it turns out is not round but is in fact oval and is 3.25 wide by 3.75 +/- .. Stock item..

Just go to Mercury Marine parts book. Need your serial number but this is is a godsend for ordering the right parts and seeing how things should go together.

use your serial number in one of the many mercruiser parts websites to get the correct one for your down pipe
