3.0l mercruiser

3.0l mercruiser with alpha one leg. Boat started feeling sluggish and taking in water. Found this hose disconnected. What is it?

Speedometer tube
Connects under the drive shaft on the lower section of the drive

No, it just sends pressure up the tube to the speed-o

Water intake and performance is another ball game

Where is the water coming in?

Found the leak. It is the exhaust manifold drain plug. Must have blew off.
