I have a old wellcraft with a 3.0 mercruiser, how can I turn it manually? I think it's locked up and would like to see if I can get it moving again

Ayuh,.... Pull the drive 1st, it turns with the crankshaft, 'n could be the problem,....

Also, when askin' a question, start a thread of yer own, insteada hy-jackin' an ole antique thread that's not related to yer problem at all,.....

Also pull the plugs and see what you find. If they are rusted up then you have some problems! Is this a new to you boat?

welcome aboard.

follow the recommendations of both Bondo and Fishermark on the drive and plugs.

then if you still cant turn the motor over with the starter, then remove the starter, and use the ring gear teeth or pick up a crank socket. never try to turn a motor over with the crank bolt.

Ayuh,..... The 3.0l has a massive motor mount in the way,...... ;)

Tighten the v-belt, 'n use the alternator nut,....
