Hi All,
I am a newbie, this my first boat, helpped many others but this is my first owned boat. I have a 2005 Bayliner 185 with a Merc 3.0L motor. I bought the boat from the original owner who took great care of the boat. I had the boat out twice last yesr without issue. I had the local marine company (where the original owner bought and maintained from) do the winterazation and storage. They also installed a 10 micron fuel/water seperater before winterizing it. This year they did a "Spring Start". I took the boat out first the first time yesterday and the boat ran great a high rpms (3000 to 3500). However upon trying to dock, the motor kept bogging down and shutting off at idle of no wake rpms. I had to limp the boat about 100 ft to the dock. I could not keep the engine to idle even with using the "Throttle Only". I want to take the boat back to the service place for a checkover but would like some advice from seasoned boaters so they don't take this newbie to the cleaners. Any and all advice is welcomed and apprecieted.
