Hi gents<br /><br />Is "3:2 pulldown" a worthy option to obtain when purchasing a DvD player?

Every 5 video frames comes from 4 frames of the original film, by alternately recording 2 video fields from one film frame, then 3 video fields from the next film frame. <br /><br />Basically, you get a real clear picture.

Hi again<br /><br />I'm putting all my VHS, 8mm and super 8mm home movies on DvD (what a project) When I'm done, I'll need a decent home theater DvD player. I just bought a unit from Best Buy. I was happy with the quality until I spotted "3:2 pulldown" mentioned on some of the higher end units. Being a stickler (sucker) for quality, I'm attracted like walleye to leeches.<br /><br />Will I notice the difference? I need some guidance....

Moose - ok, but that's on the recording end isn't it? It is how the film is sampled and digitized for recording onto the DVD. How does it apply to the player? <br /><br />Schematic, only one wat to find out - watch them side by side at a good retailer.

Moose; How many pictures can a human actually see in one second? I see computers that say they can play games up to 150 fps. I wonder if this makes any difference.

It really does depend on how it was recorded. Recorded quality makes more of a difference than playing quality.
