For the first boat trip this spring about a month ago, we had to use fiberglass resin to fix a tohatsu ns 3.5 b2 fuel tank leak- the tank is fiberglass, the crack was about 1 inch long and near the front hold down bolt hole.
It worked great- that day. now the fiberglass we put in the crack has been affected by the gas I think and is soft and gummy leaking again.

what to do? any way to fix it?

As the tank is plastic fiberglass would not ever stick to it. A new tank is available from any Nissan, Mercury or Tohatsu dealer.

Agree with Elvin completely. There is an exotic epoxy resin that would work, but the cost of a new tank is less than the resin and labor.
