Hey guys, I have a 1988 Wellcraft 180 classic with a 3.7L mercruiser in it. The boat cranks but will never turn over. I thought it was not getting gas from the carb to the engine so I replaced the fuel filter and rebuilt the carb. But it is still the same problem. I am looking for any advice on any last minute ideas before I take it too a repair shop. Any advice or ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks,

Are you getting spark? Have you changed points, rotor, condenser and distributer cap? Have you checked the coil?

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,....... Ya mean it won't Start,..??

Crankin' the motor on the starter, turns the motor over,.....

Or is the starter engagin', but nothin' moves, aka: turns over,..??

If the motor is rotatin' when the starter is engaged, a motor needs 4 things to Run,.....
Fuel,.....
Fire,.....
Compression,.....
'n All at the right Time,......

Pull the spark plugs,.....
Are they wet with gas,..?? If so, ya got no Fire,.... 1st guess is the points are corroded,....

While the spark plugs are out, do a Compression test,...... 150 psi is a fairly healthy motor,.....
Below 100 psi, it's a rebuildable core motor, not a runner,.....
