My boat currently has twin 3.7LXs, which the previous owner managed to seize. I have two older 3.7s sitting in the shop with rebuilt top ends. I'm looking to do the cam seal while these motors are out, as well as any other preventetive maintenance. Could you experts please let me know what I should take care of before I drop these motors in, and if you could provide some direction on where to purchase these items, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Howdy,

google is your friend here..... But you'll have to search thru a LOT of sites where they tell you pretty much what Bondo said..

These people at Mercruiserparts.com have a pretty good idea of replacing 3.7's with 3.0L engines.....probably one of the best little 4 bangers used in a boat (and still in production)

(Last summer I replaced a friends 3.0 with a longblock.....what a nice little engine!)

They say they will buy the 3.7 cores from you too.....

This sounds like one of those "Free Boat" deals. you might be money ahead to do something other than 470's.

Good luck however you go!

Rick
