A friend of mine lost his 3 year old grandson at Lake of the Ozarks yesterday morning.

I gues the boy got up between 6 and 6:30 in the morning, and walked out of the house, and off of the end of the dock.

No criminal charges at this time.

This a tragedy !! My buddy is beside himself !!!!!!

Keep them in your prayers !!!!!!!

There is nothing I can say. I am at a loss for words.

I will send up a prayer though, it is the only thing I can do.

Re: 3 year old drowns

I am going camping in a cabin right on the water with my 3 year old NEXT WEEK. I'm sorry for your friends loss but I am glad that I am reading this just days before I leave. I am going to bring a bell to put on the door, This post has gotten the " this sort of thing happens to other people" mentality out of my head.

Even a locked door couldn't have kept me out.

I know I was a terror when I was 3...nothing could stop me...I'm lucky to be alive...unthinkable things happen....my condolences to 204's friend....and Scipper77, good idea about the bells on ALL the doors...

I can only say I am sorry for the loss.....

I have 2 grand babies 2-1/2 and 3-1/2

What could have been done or should be done will not reverse the loss :( no armchair quarterbacking this one guys.........

A deadbolt is not even a challenge for my three tear old (almost 4). You would be surprised what someone so young can do if they want to.

I grew up on the water, and respect it. I try to teach that to my child, as we live on the water once again. My condolences to you and your friend, and all of your loved ones.

It is one one my biggest fears for my little one , and even for myself- to drown in the water is terrible, to die in any way for a 3 year old is just ,,,,, well , hard to put to words. My prayers are out to you , his little one, and your families.
