30 horse yamaha?

Found a 1990 30 horse Yamaha on Craigslist for 350 bucks. Couple questions. First of all, from the lone picture, can you tell me if it is two stroke or four stroke. Dejaycee, you viewing this? Secondly, although I am all OMC, and nothing else, I still have nothing against Yamaha and am trying to be open minded. But, for those that have run both, tell me how they compare (all the comparisons are against mercs)
And lastly, how much would I need to convert from a console control to tiller, and how much would it cost. Thanks a bunch yall, here is the picture.

3 cyl, 2-stroke, autolube, long shaft ...... nice motor and easy to convert to tiller arm, I have no idea how much the kit would cost though .... comparing - mmm well the yamaha have more performance, but the merc is lighter on fuel ....
