Hello all!
So I bought a 30 HP mariner outboard a few years back (30ELO serial# 689 L 418032) and got it running but there were still issues. You can manually spin the propeller and the flywheel will turn as well. However if you pull back on the propeller than the propeller will spin freely and the flywheel doesn't move.
I've looked at the blown apart pictures of the gear housing and my guess is that's where the problem is. I was curious if anyone could point me in the right direction of where the problem may be at. Id rather not pull the gear housing apart if i don't have to. The picture alone is pretty intimidating I dont know if id be able to put it back together if i took it apart!
