How do you set the throttle linkages and timing on these engines ? I dont have a manual , the motor runs great but I dont seem to be getting enough power when on plain .

More info. What size boat?
If the motor runs GREAT. To vague.

my apologises , its a 16ft Carolina skiff . The boat is slow out of the hole and once its on plain I dont seem to be getting full rpm although when im in gear I get full travel on the linkages running it on the trailer . The previous owner said he had fidled with the timing .

Time to Buy An OEM Mercury manual.
When someone fiddle dicks with something,got to go back to square one.
