302 Volvo penta engine swap.

I have a 1994 Volvo penta 302 cobra engine. I’m looking to see if a shortblock 302 ford motor will be the same. Mine is carb not injected.
many info would be great as I’m just starting this project.

I'm not 100% sure about the fords but a 302 VP Cobra is a ford 302 block that VP put there marine stuff on so if you swap the stuff over I'd say yes

I just looked where I buy them and yes it is the same.

first, look up the parts on your motor based on your serial number to get the proper combustion "mix"

many 5.0 ford motors used GT40 heads and the 351 cam in the motor. at a minimum check the firing order

not all ford 302 motors are the same.
