I have a 1999 Chaparral with twin 305's. I am looking for some information or schematics that will aid in troubleshooting a no start problem. the fuel pump(s) for the L/H engine are not energizing and not receiving the voltage to energize. I have already verified the relays pulling in and checked ok.
I have troubleshot this problem two times so far. Both times when I was inspecting the components, I noticed that the pump(s) for the L/H engine would energize the first time I turned on the ignition and fired that injectors briefly and for the rest of the troubleshooting session the pump(s) would not energize.
My question is: Do the Volvo Penta's have the equivalent of a ECU and possibly throwing a code causing the pump(s) not to energize? Or, is there a more simple explanation of the problem I am experiencing?

Any help would be appreciated.....Thanks

Re: 305 volvo penta

Oil pressure switch shuts them off automatically for no oil pressure for safety reasons. That's normal.
