30hp Early 90's Evinrude Controls to Tiller Conversion

As stated, I have an early 90's 30 hp envirude that I'm looking to convert from controls to tiller. I know I should have the model number and figure out what year it is, but the motor is at home, and I'm not at the moment.
Primarily, I was wondering how compatible the handles are from other years, and whether one needs to get a handle exactly from the year the outboard was made.

Also, if anyone has any parts from outboards that they have converted the other way I might be interested...

Easy task.
You will need the tiller assembly from a donor motor.
Unbolt the 4 rubber motor mounts and swap the steering assemblies out.

Not sure about the bracket,but right now on ebay there is a tiller handle for your motor.Its a start.

I think I saw the one you are talking about, but that's off an '85. Think it'll fit?
I spose it's only about 50 bucks with shipping, so I could just buy it an find out...

won't fit, plus you'll need the steering handle and pilot tube, which is part of the conversion kit BRP sells

Any idea how much the conversion kits go for?
