30hp fuel filter

2010 Merc, how do you get the little plastic fuel filter off on the side of the motor?
Tried to take it off, didn't want to break it. Boy is it on there tight!

Don't know if its similar to the one on my Mariner - a screw-on plastic cylinder with an "O" ring. I used one of those strap wrenches, w/rubber strap, available at Harbor Freight, to remove mine. The strap distributes the force on the plastic and may help prevent breakage.

Mine has a 10mm nut secureing the houseing to engine.
Thats how I get to my 2006 30HP filter. Then I unscrew it bare-handed from houseing. Easy!
