Does anyone know anything about these cables? Apparently they can be used to convert an OMC throttle box to work with a Mercury outboard..

Re: 33C cables

Tele Flex 33c cables are a universal cable and can be adapted to a lot of things, but I don't know if the box has enough travel to shift a mercury or not

Most of the "newer" OMC controls had alternate cable connection points. These were supposed to increase the travel to work with Mercury.

I also admit... I've never tried it. We are a BRP and a Mercury dealer. We have always changed the controls to match.

I just did some checking on this except the change was from OMC to Yamaha. Using 33c cables you will need the Merc cable ends (Morse #MOR301901) for the engine. There is an adapter kit that adapts the 33c cable to the OMC control box. (Morse #MOR304949). Works with '79 and newer boxes.
