I have a 1984 evinrude outboard it has a standard shift lever but has the remote cable connected to it. I disconnect the cable and still jumps out of gear when giving it power. It is a electric start with manual pull rope disconnected. I bought this boat and motor knowing it had a shift problem. It has had a new lower unit installed before I bought it. I do have a manual for this motor but thought someone could get me started in the right direction before I started.<br />Thanks.
