35 HP Cooling Problems

Good morning All and God bless.
My friend has a 35 HP, 1986, I think, (0A965285) that pumps water when it first starts then stops pumping water. Any body got any info on what to start with in repairs?

Replace the impeller and thermostat.

It is a 1985 model.

Does an 1985 35HP have a t-stat?

I dont think my 89 Classic fifty does. (or does it )

To all who helped. Thanks much for your input. Manuals are good, but I prefer the experience of people with knowledge. Some small factors that the manuals. Like being in the 101st, jumping is totally different then reading about jumping.
