35 hp Elec Johnson

Just brought outboard, have it running finnally,<br />needed a water pump,and lower seals. But it will <br />only run 7 to 10 minutes!, no spark, 1 hour later<br />it will fire up,but quits again after 10 min.<br />the 4 pin to the armature plate assembly,b-c is dead, no complete circuit,any ideas,or suggestions. unit is a J35ELCS, 1980.

Sounds like a heat related failure in the ignition system.<br /><br />Isolate what part with a hair dryer.<br /><br />Good luck.
