The motor is a tiller steer model 35r76g with electric start. It has the following wires:

large red and brown or purple-I know these are for the starter

small red from hot side of coil

two small black wires attached to blue wires attached ignition coils

white wire from ground on starter coil

The wiring harness was cut when I got the motor. Can someone please tell me how to wire a new switch

Thanks, smorris

Re: 35 hp ignition wiring

Thanks for the diagram but what I have seems to be quite different. I guess what I am asking is how do I stop the motor from running? Am I correct to ground the two wires coming from the ignition coilsto stop the motor or is this stupid and will it fry the coils?

The motor is a tiller steer and I am planning to place the ignition and start button on the front of the motor beside the pull choke

Thanks again
