35 hp Johnson 1979

GOOD compression 121 on both. GOOD fuel new screen new plugs new tank fuel lines and bulb.motor is on a 1994 Carolina Stiff 14 ft.Will not plane with 2 people ave 200 lbs each.did put a fin on it.Don't know how to tack engine to make sure she is running max power.seems to be.Help please.

Welcome to the forum.
Have you checked to make sure it is firing on both cylinders?
Have you tried pumping the primer bulb when it is acting up to see if that helps?
You might check the high speed orifice in the carb to make sure it is not plugged or restricted.

Firing is good.Bulb was tight.screen was clean.Water out of exhaust and p hole seemed hotter but It was straining.I shut it off and trolled in.At home runs fine in can but water seems hot.Some exhaust leaking out of side cover is this normal.
