I have an 81 35 hp johnson with a bad dog clutch and gears. I also have good parts from a 93' lower unit. I want to install the good parts in the old unit. Aside from some minor design changes the only major difference I see is that the newer unit has a longer pinion gear. Can I use my old one with the new gears?? Any experience with this would be appreciated<br /><br />Dave
