350 engine difference

sorry to ask but i tried looking and came up with nothing. What truley is the difference between a truck 350 and a boat 350? I already know the core plugs, and gaskets but that is about it that i can think of.Any info would be greatley appreciated Thanks

A lot of motors have a different cam.That depends greatly on the marine manufacturer and what they spec it too.Trying to figure that out is a big job. In the 80's Volvo used a lot of light duty truck engines.Other than that most of them are the same.Different spec for different applications.J

I believe the main difference is anything to do with fuel and electrical. Different fuel pump, carb, starter, ignition, etc than what is found on vehicles. Also, as previously mentioned the cam is different and does not have any overlap. The intake and exhaust valves are not open at the same time to prevent water from being sucked into the engine on the intake stroke. Thanks, Steven

As noted - the externals are different, but the long block is the same.
