350 head gasket

I'm installing new head gaskets. They are GM622222269577 gaskts which are stamped. Does it matter if the stamped, raised part faces the block or the head? Thanks in advance.

ummm, Is there a PRINT on the gaskets that say " this side up " ? usually there is..Look close

I suspect John is Right.......<br /><br />Why aren't you using a Composite Gasket ?????<br />Steel Shim Gaskets aren't the Best Choice for a Boat Motor........
