Starting maintenance on 2005 Cobalt 220 with 350 Mag mpi and it was stored 7 months in heated garage and NOT winterized.
Have replaced both batteries and will replace the water impellar, change oil and filter, change fuel filter, check gear lubricant, and top off gas and add seafoam. I was wondering how to clean the flame arrestor and if any other items are suggested.

I use carb cleaner or brake cleaner on the spark arrestor

I use starting fluid to clean the arrestor. All those things mentioned should work.

Check a spark plug or 2. Without removing plug wires take off the distributor cap and check condition of your rotor and inner terminals. If they are real pitted and burned it's an easy repair and yields great results. When they get tired you get roughness, coughing, etc. If the wires are original you might change them too. That engine was produced for the season that began 12 years ago...time flies.
If you get a cap and rotor insist on Mercruiser only! I got the factory cap & rotor at reasonable $ by looking up the part # and googling - ebaying that #.
Wires can be many brands but I like the stainless core marine ones... although MPI may have a specific requirement. There's plenty of ol seadogs on here to tell us what works.
