350 mercruiser mpi over heats when trolling

I have a 350 mpi that i installed in a 24' crestliner sabre yanked out the old merc 120 and upper unit and replaced with the 350 mpi and new drive i replaced the impellor with genuine merc parts. only runs hot when trolling as soon as i speed up to even 10 knots it cools right off in minutes

Thanks Don i just read start to finish i will check my thermostat as soon as i can dig the boat out of the snowbank still winter here.

My motor was a bravo that i converted to alpha 1 gen 1 since that is the drive i had i removed the bravo wter pump.yes that meant a new ecm ouch

Also while doing your testing you might want to keep this older service bulletin in mind just in case everything eles turns out good.
