350 Swap can it happen ?

since a 4.3l GM is supposed to be a 350 small block minus two cyl. how hard would it be to drop it in a 1990 17.5 Stratos that currently has a 4.3l ?(The only thing I know for sure is that the bell housing is exactly the same.

Oh yeah and do I need to change the outdrive ? I am running an OMC Cobra

If you have the bank for the different parts that aren't interchangeable then anything is possible. By the time you buy exhaust manifolds, coupler (maybe flywheel), figure out a cooling system, all the marine internals and externals for the 350 and a outdrive. You may want to rethink what you want to do.

Ugg.<br /><br />I did a 4cyl to v8 swap. Making motor mounts were tricky. Otherwise its all straight forward.<br /><br />Try to find a complete setup like I did for the swap. <br /><br />I paid $1000 for my 260hp alpha one setup. From spark arrestor, to prop.<br /><br />So far i've replaced: oil, gear lube, gimbal bearing, top bearing in outdrive, gaskets, coil.<br /><br />The guy even threw in gauges, and a power steering setup (my boat had manual). <br /><br />-- Joe
