350 swap

Any one know if a 1998 350 chevy will bolt up in place of a 1988 350. Same crank? Block mounts? The 88 is a crusader, 98 is a merc, if that matters.

Bottom end is the same, the 98 may have vortec heads which require a different intake manifold. Post the serial number, Don S can decode them.

The vortec upgrade is worth the extra cost of replacing the manifold. Those heads are more efficient and deliver more power...

Yes, yes and yes. But as mentioned if you aren't getting a complete 1998, you'll need a different intake manifold.
