Ok those who keep up with my change from and old Rothenberg Quad Jet to the Edelbrock Marine 600 cfm. Ran great on the test lake run, but then 1/2 day of solid running I cruised to a constant low RPM on a slow cruise. After about 20 minutes I decide to pick up to higher cruise speed and it still wants to strive for power seeming to get too much gas or maybe not enough ?? I thought the unit came with factory settings but any thoughts to keeping this new carb top notch? Is it fuel line, pressure, it has all new filters and new spark systems. What am I missing>>>> ??? IS THERE A FILTER INSIDE THE GAS TANK STARVING THE NEW CARB???

Bayliner 24.5 with new 350 crate OMC/ Cobra OD.

Rothenberg????? Sure you don't mean Rochester Quadra Jet?

The fuel pickup tube has a screen on it that can become plugged, and there should be an antisiphon valve at the top of the pickup that could be plugged.
Try putting a piece of clear hose between the fuel pump and the hose to the tank and see if you are pulling air. If you see air bubbles in the hose, you have an air leak.
The fuel tank vent could also be plugged.
Did you check to makesure the secondaries were opening when you gave it throttle?

Make sure carb is not to loose. When you run an engine for a while it is common for the gaskets to set and carb to become loose.Ive seen this to many times to count.Easy to check and can save you a lot af trouble.Any vaccum leak will cause this bogging problem you seem to be having.
Good Luck,Jonny

Oops, Rochester Yes. It was the old carb and it started bogging with the old one. That is why I switched. But that did not fix it. The new one bogs. So air or clog may be happening somewhere, will check new pressure and look at the screens.

thanks all.. will pass on what I find.
