Hello everyone,
Been a while since I was last one here, long story. Well i just purchased a 1977 ebbtide (model unknown) has what seems to be a 351 engine. First issue is wouldnt turn over took care of that (bad starter solenoid) now it seems to be turning over really battery is new starter tested good according to autozone. Boat has been sitting for about 5 months according to previous owner. Is it possible that this thing be sludged up bad enough where it wouldnt turn over easier?

Any ideas?

Maybe the drive unit? Check gear oil first. A new to you boat I would pull it off anyway to service everything. Then try the engine.
Load test battery first. The parts store will do it.
Battery cables?
rust? pull plugs spray wd 40 into the engine and turn it over.
Dont burn up starter messing with a bad outdrive.

Post a picture of the back of your alternator, then we can tell you where the wires should go, and you can verify if they do or not.

Havent had a chance to get some pics up yet another thing that just magically decided to stop workin is my tilt/trim the tilt doesnt even make a noise but when i try the trim i hear a click noise coming from a solenoid the motor does work i can use a jumper wire and it will go up or down but doesnt work from the switch. Battery is good no blown fuses any ideas?

'77 sounds like you're working on a Stringer. Tilt would be at the back of that system (at the drive), and trim would be at the front (jack screw holding the engine in position). I would test your tilt solenoids, but my first guess is that both your tilt and trim motors need to be rebuilt.
